The aides that have been there awhile are great, but there aren't enough. Also, they can't seem to keep good cooks. Overall, my Mom is very happy there except for the delay in aides coming. [Name removed],...

We chose Village Walk because they were able to give us the best price and it was also convenient to our house. We are not able to see much of the place at all because of the covid restriction that are in place, but from what I have been able to see. activities have been great and he has taken advantage of them. They are very creative, he is wheelchair bound and they have accommodated him. They have been communicative with us if there is anything we need to know. I have reached out a few times and sometimes it is really hard to get a hold of people. The most frustrating part has been the covid restrictions and not being able to go inside his room.

One issue we have is with communication, once I get ahold of someone they help and are very friendly. For people looking for assisted living, they have activities and lots to do. I would definitely recommend this community to others. The community is in a good location with things to do all around. You can bring in a home-cooked meal or go out to eat close bye to.

We like the fact that it is a smaller community and clean, but we do think they can improve on their staffing, however we know that is a big struggle for everyone right now. The staff members that are they are doing a terrific job.

They need staff that can handle difficult residents. The aides get offended and won't help them but these residents are old and this is just what happens. My loved one has missed breakfast on countless occasions . They are always short staffed. They need staff that can handle difficult residents. Village Green has only been open for about 18 months; the staff has changed before my eyes and I've only been here for 2 months. overall they're on their 3rd or 4th executive director. the aides themselves are changing and they are very understaff. because of that, the residents are suffering. my loved one is incapable of doing anything on his own, and the response time to his pendant is very slow - it takes them about 30 minutes to an hour to reach him. they wouldn't know if he's ringing because he needs help to the bathroom or because he's having a heart attack and that's very concerning. their excuse for that is always, "because we are understaffed". the staff are overall nice, but because they are so overworked they can get a little rude, and I get that. I respect them and we give them praise for their work, but I'm worried about my loved one and his care. they have a brand new director who I am in constant communication with and I'm hoping he will turn this ship around. my sibling and I visit often and we'll run into other visitors who share their concern, so I know we aren't the only family who feels this way. I'm so thrilled that Village Green is so close to my home, I'm very grateful for that. I wish I could give them a better glowing review, but if I was looking for a place at this very moment I'd want to hear the honesty of someone living here.

Reading the reviews, I see many are impressed by all the activities provided to the residents. Well this does not apply to my 98 year old mother who suffers from dementia but is still quite articulate and gets her point across to me, her daughter. Prior to the pandemic I visited with my mom 3 to 4 times a week. Now it is rare even though we both have been vaccinated. The beauty parlor and getting her hair done lifted her spirits. It's gone, never to return. My mom goes many days without her hair being washed. The condition of her rug has not been cleaned in over a year with many stains. I have requested it get cleaned numerous times. I do pay extra $ for extra care. My mom seems depressed now.

I would advise looking elsewhere first. If your loved one is in an early stage of dementia, I think maybe they would thrive here. But for later stages of dementia, I think there are better options in the area. I think they're understaffed, and that negatively affected my loved one's health. I also think they need to better assess their patients' needs based on daily/weekly analysis, and not just based on their initial assessment. I think they need to take better care of their patients, especially ones that are returning from hospital stays. Those patients should be their main focus, and in our experience, that was not the case. Also, communication from the memory care director was not what we expected it to be. The woman in marking and admissions was wonderful. But the woman who was the director of memory care only gave us a response maybe 50% of the time.

As far as the people who care for our loved one we have no problems, they are very friendly. However the management has a lack of communication and it seems to be happening a lot more. The first time we visited we got a frozen people and it was atrocious, but we did confront them about it and we think it is improving. Our loved one says there are no activities, but having memory issues we have to take that with a grain of salt because we are told by staff our loved one is participating in things. It is a good price for the place, we did have problems from the beginning with rates being added and there being inconsistency.

"They get used to it" from the staff when we are concerned about our loved ones being sad that they are stuck there was a disgusting reply. "They" are people, people who deserve to feel special. People who deserve to have things they had when they were home Z Zoom calls have tons of noise in background This place might need some work. Update: they don't enforce that the visitors wear masks. Visitor sitting in a wide open window with NO MASK ON! in a NURSING HOME! Christmas : drive from bk. My mother made a request I got the christmas picture of my grandma. Open the card after leaving to an empty card. My heart sank. This is the hardest christmas of my life and with all the money spent for her to be here, these people were so insensitive and thoughtless they gave me an empty christmas card. Hurt a bit to find out they ate chicken soup and grilled cheese for dinner. Imagine your loved one had soup and grilled cheese for dinner. Soup. Grandma is now sick and nobody bothered to inform us

I believe my grandma passed away more quickly by being there. She escaped from the locked dementia care unit and walked 3 miles home and the staff were extremely unapologetic about it and even lied about it. She fell 2 times the day prior to her somewhat sudden death, and while cleaning out her apartment, we found notes on napkins in her handwriting begging for food.

It's a clean, new and nice looking community. The sizes of the rooms is decent. My loved one has been there a short period of time. The lack of care is terrible. They are very unorganized. There is always a change in leadership. They don't always follow-up with issues/complaints.

Very careless staff. Lack of empathy towards families with concern and frustration over the poor care of their loved ones. Misplace things often. The director is extremely hard to speak to about anything of importance. I wish my grandma had better care and less rapid declining due to not being properly taken care of during her stay.

They left my mom in bed for most of the day with no bath, no food, and no help. WORST PLACE EVER... could not get her out fast enough. They made it very hard to visit, using Covid as an excuse. They expected us to take a frail old woman outdoors to a plastic pod in 40 degree weather. They lost her hearing aids too.

They left my mother-in-law in bed until after lunch some days. They lost her hearing aids. They are very short-staffed with few activities. They made us jump through hoops to visit her. We had to move her after two months. If you love your parent, you can do much better than this for them!

Please do not send your loved one there if they need memory care The management from sales to memory care are all high schools friends. They cover for one another My mother lost over 70 lbs and was not being fed. Told us we needed private aid and recommended Am an agency. Turns out the agency Is the memory care Directors mother !! Screwed My Mother out of 800 dollars Aids would not show up and I was told be employees that no aid showed up. Mom was left in bed most of the time and never fed breakfast. Their excuse was your mom likes to sleep late My sister went to see my mom when they allowed visiting in their rooms. At 11 am my mother was covered with feces and still wearing her clothing from the day before. She was also hospitalized many times. Please don’t send you loved one there

They aren't caring. They aren't compassionate. This is strictly business, no actual regards for the residents. Check Google reviews. They had a review removed for posting injuries on a former resident. These people who work here disgust me. I hope they can get it together soon.

We put our loved one there for a month, we paid for a specific care package because they are ale cart. This specific care package was the second or highest packaged, they would take care of her and see her three times a day. This never transpired. The reason why we picked this place was because i would stay the night when i came in for out of town over the weekend. She did not get the care we asked and paid for. They cut corners wherever they could, there would be one nurse at night looking after residents on three different floors. We cannot blame the nurses there are emergency's all the time, but our loved one would have to wait hours for to get help.

I have concluded after one full year, that this state facility has its values, priorities, on big pharma revenue. Narcotics on the fourth floor are distributed like candy. Staff are trained to give minimal personal responsive care, and instead, serve the collective...staff. Diet is not conducive to nutrition, but, instead, to an impression of menu appearance, for appearance sake. Residents come from impressive career backgrounds, yet, no one seems to incorporate their high level of intelligence in activities. The activities are very undignified and way too elementary...not engaging for these residents. Nor, dignified. Staff wouldn't have knowledge of the simplest things. Such as how to quickly stop a nose bleed. No cotton balls, or ice? That's strange. Those have worked for us, for generations. Carbs and sugar ought to be taken into account in planning meals. I do like the 'low salt' in prepared meals. Fruit is poor quality and very scarce on the forth floor. We were assured kitchen was accessable with fresh fruit and fresh water. Its proven, not. The decor is lovely. The outdoor sitting areas, too. Rooms are nice. Dining floor is often dirty and sticky. Tables, placemats, are often, sticky. Meal times are always lax in service. Residents sit patiently waiting for accompliments to dishes, condiments, glasses...for instance. Staff is too self obsorbed during meals. Salads are not offered. The policy seems to be run on, "unless a resident asks, dont offer."

I brought my mom here for 10 day respite. She has dementia and was placed on the 5th floor memory care. I was assured there would be plenty of activities, there was nothing going on on the 5th floor even though the activities calendar said there was. On the 3rd day I received a call that she fell - the night aide left her socks on and she slipped while she was in the bathroom! Thank goodness she didn't break anything. I was also told they had an enhanced license and would take extra care of my mom since she has add'l medical requirements. After meeting with the director and nurses they told me they would move her to the 4th floor where there was much more activities. I decided to extend her stay. However, when I went to check on her later that day she was needing to be changed and had a large red rash. I took her home immediately. No one ever bothered to call me to see how she was doing. The assisted living area may be well managed but the memory care is horrible.
